Physio-Control, Inc., a division of Medtronic (Redmond, WA) • 1999 - 2008
Principal IT Technologist
Primary responsibility for both strategic and tactical aspects of a Service Oriented Architecture initiative (architectural, technical, governance, and implementation). Drove technology decisions based on a long-term SOA strategy with the goal of increasing IT efficiency.  

Major contributions

  • Secured multi-year organization commitment for new system integration infrastructure (SOA) by driving alignment between IT, R&D and vendor organizations.
  • Proposed, initiated and managed to completion a $500,000 project--comprised of vendor, technology and implementation decisions--to implement SOA plans.
  • Managed the development of a new Online Commerce platform built on Microsoft SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS), a $300,000 project, that provided customers real-time access to ERP system for purchasing products.
